Hello,
I'm Marla Camacho a first grade teacher at Cottonwood Elementary, in Andover, Kansas.
I have been teaching for 10 years, in addition to 1st grade I have taught 3rd and 4th.
I am married to Hector Camacho who owns Camacho Aviation Enterprises an aviation company
for antique airplane parts. We have three children, Andrea just graduated from the University
of Texas with a Music Studies degree and a Secondary Teaching Certificate. She has a job
teaching Middle School Band in Round Rock, Texas. Nicholas is an Engineering student at
Cal Poly in San Luis Obispo, California.
Daniel will be a third year Business/Spanish student at Friends University in Wichita, KS.
As you can tell I love Camaro's, we currently have 2 1/2 Camaro's in our family.
The new 2009 (pictured) will be in my driveway in one year.
As a parent myself, I have been apprehensive about what kind of teachers my own children
would have during their educational experience in Andover. I can tell you that I will be a
caring person who will always treat your child fairly and with respect. Feel free to visit my
classroom anytime during the school year.
A teacher's role is one of motivating, influencing, and facilitating learning. The teacher
is to teach the child respect for themselves as well as respect for other individuals and
respect for rules. I am not only delighted to have your child in my class, but take that
responsibility very seriously. I feel the first few years of school, forms the foundation
of a childs learning success. A positive environment will make the educational experience a better place
to learn.
